It’s been a while I wrote my thoughts. That’s mostly because I have been a lazy dog. My human rubs off her laziness onto me. I wasn’t like this before. I think I should take her out for a walk. But that’s not likely going to happen for a while. You may ask why and to answer that you have to go through the pages of my diary .
On some sunny day :
8:00 AM : I am really not in a mood to bark right now. I just saw my human pack her bags. Where does she think she is going?
9:00 AM : I sulked and made my best puppy face ever. She coo-chi cooed me for a while but was back to packing stuffs. What does a dog have to do to get heard? Maybe I won’t have my breakfast and then she would notice.
10:00 AM : I am so full right now. I know I was on a strike but my human just gave me pedigree for breakfast. She never does that. Why is she being extra nice? I smell something Pedigree. Maybe some of it is still left in my plate.
10:30 AM : Enough, I can’t take this suspense. I will just go and tell her to pack me in her luggage as well. She better takes me or I will chew her carpet. Yes! Yes! I will do that.
12:00 PM : I am sad. There is no place for this small big puppy dog in her luggage. It has all the woolen clothes and socks in it. But I am sure only I can keep her feet warm.
1:00 PM : She gave me a potato to eat. That’s my weakness. I think I am sleepy with all the party food in my tummy.
5: 00 PM : My human just woke me up. Told me to get ready for walk. Like yeah sure. Let me just comb my tail . 😉
(But you really have to be a dog to get this joke)
7.30 PM : That was really some walk. We had some serious discussion of what I wanted from this life. Turns out I just want my human with me. Though it wouldn’t hurt if she also had some potatoes with her. Right?
9:00 PM : The suitcases are packed and lined up in the front door. Tell me she is not leaving . I dog promise not to chew the carpet again. Oh! Let me hide her shoes.
9:15 PM : She found them below the bed. She patted me and told me she would be back in few days and not to trouble mom and dad. I was in charge of this house from now on. Sure I am sad but did she say I am in charge? Bring on the Work man! I forgot to ask her though if it would be fine if I can chew the carpet now? What do you think?
PS : Do you leave your dogs and go out for vacation? Doesn’t our puppy eyes melt your heart? I am off to sleep for now. It’s my sweet dreams time but I better get an answer from you when I wake up. Okay? Or I might come and chew your carpet too!

Lol,I take the fact that when we get there they jumped out the car and run in as a good sign.
The kennel is lovely and the couple who own it is like family after 16 years .We changed three houses but never the kennel even if it is a hour driving away now.😀

We just got back and ours ripped himself free from the leash when he heard our voices outside of our friend’s yard! Very cute post… so true… they do miss us when we go away.

I love how you have captured the mind of a dog. An owner cannot help but feel terrible at leaving their pets, especially because they probably think you have abandoned them every time. I have to leave my cat for very long stretches whilst I travel, it absolutely kills me because I cannot explain to her that I am not leaving her forever, I cannot explain how long I will be, why I am going or that I still love her and that I will be back for her as soon as I can. It breaks a little piece of my heart every time I have to do it.

That’s true. When we pack maybe they think we won’t be back ever. The truth is even we can’t live without them. The way they welcome you once you return is such a precious feeling. Isn’t it? ❤️

Oh my goodness yes! I love how my cat comes to greet me with such enthusiasm when I come home. She is such a sweet little darling. Every pet is so precious. I hate to Think she worries that we have abandoned her when we go away, it curls me up all painful inside🙁 we have to take our cat to stay with someone in a couple of days. It is going to hurt so badly! No, we cannot live without them. They are so special.

My cats are like that. Following me around while I am packing. Trying to trip me. And than when I come home they ignore me to punish me. 🙂

Oh! Do they really ignore you? Haha… Thankfully dogs react differently. They start barking and jumping the moment they hear your footsteps and you would still feel guilty because you wouldn’t know what you have done to deserve all that attention 😂

German shepherds are amazing. Aren’t they?
I’ve never heard of dogs eating raw potatoes, though.
My GS would dig up the growing potatoes, but I didn’t think they’re healthy for them.

Oh yes! They are amazing. No doubt. My dog loves potatoes and even mangoes. You cannot eat a mango near her. She will make sure to get her equal share 😀
She got the habit of eating potatoes when she was really small. She would sit by the kitchen eagerly to get hold of the potatoes 😀

Ah! You just touched my heart. I’ve had many cats in my life, and they have all learned quickly what it meant when I took out my suitcase. One cat used to sit in it so I couldn’t pack it. I hate leaving my pets when I go on vacation, but I guess every living creature has something to struggle with in life. For cats and dogs, their humoms and hudads going on vacation is a big one. I’m a new follower. Nice to meet you.

Wow… Nice post…. Actually German Shepherd is courageous, keen, alert and fearless. They have a high learning ability. They have strong protective instincts which make them perfect guard dogs. But this does not mean they can’t socialize. They love to be with families.German Shepherds are known for police and military dog breeds. They work great for service roles. German Shepherd is a very intelligent and faithful companion. They can be trained well for being a good service dog and intelligent.

When we go on vacation we invite Liz over. Liz is one of Pettigrew’s special friends. They watch tv on the couch together and now I don’t feel so guilty. Oh, and Pettigrew takes over writing my blog when I am away. I’ve never heard of a dog who loves potatoes before. Something new!
