Unconditional love. Was it? Then why did it feel like being trapped? Why was he not feeling happy when they were meant to be together.
Ryan was of course deeply in love with Kathy. There was no doubt in it. He was the one who fell for her in the first place. Her rosy cheeks, round eyes, button like nose which flared up oh so fast! It was just a delight watching her. The first time he saw her, she was busy bargaining for a silver neck piece. It was kind of cute. The shopkeeper was at a loss because this girl was quite adamant and knew what the worth of the neck piece was. He eventually gave in and that bought a huge smile to her face. It’s been 3 years now that they have been together and the tries smile is still intact. Touch wood.
Keeping the book aside which he was reading, he realized she wasn’t one of those out of the world gorgeous girl that the books he read mostly described. Thank God for that. He always felt the books and movies exaggerated everything. The beautiful girl, the handsome boy. Their perfect relationship. Why on earth do they attempt so hard to raise the standard of expectation of how perfect something can be? It’s fine to not be perfect. How glad he was that Kathy was just a normal-decent girl with a take on life for everything. Just the kind of girl he wanted. Beautiful in and out. Always high on life. A bit of moody though, now that he knew her so well. A bit too well. He could know what mood she was in just by the way she replied to his texts.
If life was treating them so well then what was it that was bothering him? He loved her, she loved him. That’s all that matters. Right? Wrong. Sometimes too much of love could also suffocate you.
K: Where are you?
R: Chilling at home babes. What about you?
K: Nothing. Just getting bored. Who loves to work on a Saturday? Hate this office. Anyways, Want to meet for dinner? I might get free from work early today.
R: Umm, So Sorry..I have a dinner planned out with my team honey.
K: Ohk! When was it made?
R: Just an hour ago or so.
K: And you didn’t bother to inform me?
R: But we just talked right now. There is nothing to hide. You know.
K: So I guess it will be just you guys?
R: Guys and girls too. You know my team. You have met them so many times.
K: So that would mean I can join in too?
R: Of Course sweets. You can.
K: But you didn’t involve me while making this plan. You just said you were going out for dinner…
R: Look if you want to come, then you can. It’s an open house.
K: Not like this. I always feel left out. I wanted to spend time with you but… leave it. You guys have fun.
Just what he had dreaded of. He knew his planning out with others wouldn’t go down so well with her. Off late she just wanted him all by herself. He loved being together but he needed his space too. He had already started maintaining distance with his friends because of her. He felt it was his responsibility to keep her happy all the time but it shouldn’t be just one way. Should it? He felt a lot of compromises had to be made from his end . He wanted to be carefree yet in love too. He wanted her in his life but was big time confused too.
With Valentines day just around the corner, he hoped to make it up for her but did he really see a future with her now? Maybe he was thinking too much ahead of his time. It would all work out given a chance. Or would it?
Love stories are meant to be sweet but can it turn bitter over time? Ready to go for this unconventional ride ? This is just his version. Her version will be out soon too. Maybe then we can decide are they Trapped In Love Or Wrapped In Love?
