Welcome to my travel diary. Hope you have fun turning over the pages.
Recently I went to Ooty and trust me when I say, it is indeed the queen of hills. To be honest, I have been to many hill stations before but Ooty made me want to stay there for a few more days. Unfortunately I had to wrap up the trip in just 2 days (not enough) but still enough for it to leave a mark on my mind. I have a little treat for you guys. This time it’s 2 in 1 blog. It’s not just a Picture Story Blog but has a detailed Vlog too. In short,
- I made a video which I think does more justice to the roads than the pictures do. I would urge you all to watch the video as well as check out the still photography in here. The video is not on YouTube so no I am not going to ask you guys to like, share and subscribe (yet) ๐ Just let me know if you liked it or not and that would be enough for me.
- However, if you would rather enjoy watching the pictures than video then you’re more than welcome to hop on and enjoy Ooty through my eyes.
Lights, Camera, Action !!!
Udagamandalam (also known as Ootacamund (listen )), and abbreviated as Udhagai and popularly known as Ooty (
listen) is a town and a municipality in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. It is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri Hills.
It’s almost 300 kms from Bangalore and the best route to reach Ooty from there is via Mysore and Bandipur National park which again is a tourist attraction. Follow the below route if you ever plan your trip from Bangalore.
As promised, here’s the video :
If you skipped on it then without taking much of your time, I present you my journey in the form of Picture Story and let you guys decide whether Ooty deserves to be called Queen Of Hills or not.
PS: Do read the captions for each picture.

There is something mysterious and magical in how a trip can be tiring yet refreshing. It was freezing cold at night and if it was not for the bonfire, I don’t know how I would have managed. I did not bring any jacket with me since I thought it’s summer and well I should have done my research well. But I enjoyed this experience and cannot wait for my next trip (hopefully better planned).
PS: Have you ever planned a trip without proper research, maybe which was hectic but you enjoyed it thoroughly? Let me know. I am all ears. Errr eyes. Also, let me know if you have ever been to Ooty or plan to? I might be of little help.
For all the happy traveling souls out there,
I Heart You All โค

This means a lot to me. Thank you so much for appreciating.
Each journey definitely adds on to the memories that are indeed going to last a lifetime. ๐
I watched the video first. Waited for some tigers to jump out, but no luck.
I usually over-prep for the trip, but then end up forgetting SOMETHING. But the cool thing is that you can mostly adjust.
Yepp.. No tigers or elephant for us. I guess we can only find them deep inside the forest if we take proper jeep safari. We just happened to be riding along the road to reach Ooty, so must have missed it.

Lovely post, equally lovely photographs.
One mention of the white skirt (with the frills) you are wearing in a couple of pics – very dressy and you suits you well. What’s it called? [we guys don’t have the best knowledge of stuff like that]
So glad you liked the blog. Thank you๐
Well the skirt you’re referring to, is actually called a skort (skirt+short) combination.๐
I thought so it was, didn’t know the term, so went with Skirt. Looks good on you. Perfect for the summer!
Thank you and yes it’s perfect for summers plus it’s white. My favorite. ๐
