When The Remote Plays Hide And Seek πŸ“Ί

Ever happened that you just can’t find something and you know that it is right there somewhere and no, this time your mother won’t come to help you find it because she is at her home being the perfect magician that she already is and as it turns out you did not get those magical powers in your genes to discovers stuffs that stay hidden from normal eyes. πŸ‘€

Now, my mind is just not at rest since the last two days. Why? The reason is pretty lame. It so happens I just can’t find the remote to my Stevie!!! (I meant TV, just in case you don’t know that I have a weird habit of naming stuffs.) Anyways, the call for the remote is even more urgent because I just recharged my dish TV the day before and my remote seems to have vanished into thin air since then. I so miss being couch potato and this mystery is just killing me.

Recap to the proceedings of day before and the mystery for you to solve(I sincerely hope) :

I happily surfed the channels and decided to watch Sky High and yes the remote was there with me then. I was in my recliner sofa and when the movie finished(which BTW I feel is a great movie) I wanted to change the channel but couldn’t. There was no remote to be found !!! Now, in between the movie breaks I got up just once for my dinner and then returned to my seat. That’s it and the remote just walked away out of my life. Now I have my suspicion that the recliner ate it up but trust me I have already operated the recliner and it’s not there. πŸ™„ I searched every corner of my small house and Nopes. Hard luck!!!

Sherlock holmes!!! Where art thou?

It’s two days and no sign of my remote. It’s really strange though. What do you think? Don’t you get frustrated if you can’t find the thing that you are looking for? Let me know if something like this ever happened to you too. Maybe it was right in front of you and you were searching the whole house while playing blame games tooπŸ˜‰

I wish I had some magic potion with me right now. 🀦

PS: Please be a Sherlock Holmes and solve the mystery for me if you can. I will be forever indebted πŸ€—

I Heart You All <3

Personally, I think it is still inside the recliners somewhere. You DO realize that the average recliner has FOUR stomachs, right?

    1. Wow! Is that so? That is such a painful and long operation. My hand doesn’t even reach half the places and I fear I might increase their stomachs while searching 🀦

      1. masercot says:

That gave me a laugh. Thanks…

        1. Good to know thatπŸ˜‚ welcome!

      2. It did actually. It was in for about 2 hours. My daughter left a camera in the snow for most of the day. Technology is resilient, once it thaws and dries.

        1. That really amazes me and also glad that you didn’t have to buy one. πŸ˜ƒ

Very recognisable frustration! Luckily, I have kids I can blame.

    1. Lucky youπŸ˜‚ Seriously it’s damn frustrating.

  3. Haha. It has happened way to often with me. Once I lost it in the deep pit of recliner forever. Sorry one victim cannot help other 😜

    1. Did you really never find it back? I just lost my last hope of maybe someday the remote would pop out on it’s ownπŸ˜‚

      1. I did not honestly. Looks like it ate it 😜

        1. That’s really motivating for surviving Monday πŸ˜‚

  4. Have you looked under both recliners? Recliner side pockets? Fridge? Freezer? Oven? Inside all kitchen cabinets?

    1. The recliners are a bit hard to search for. Though I did how much I could. Searched every other possible places too that I literally feel like laughing now. I even opened the utensils cover and checked the inside food that I had for dinner🀦 It really has vanished into thin air. It must be in recliner. No other explanation 😯

      1. Recliners may be watching TV while you are peacefully tucked into your bed.

        1. That’s really a mystery. I guess I might as well go and buy a new remote πŸ€”

          1. Or make a deal with the recliners!! πŸ˜‚

            1. Let me see if they are in any mood to throw up yetπŸ˜‚

              1. Maybe tickling . . or an offer of new afghans . .? πŸ˜‰

                1. Haha you’re too funny. Let me try the new offers. Tickling doesn’t help πŸ˜‰

  5. Just_Me :) says:

Hahaha! Your remote is pretty good in hiding! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

    1. You bet. I am really having a hard time figuring this out. It’s actually funny nowπŸ˜‚

      1. Just_Me :) says:

I was literally LOL-ing while reading your post! πŸ˜‚

        1. So something good came out of this post. LolπŸ˜‚ Well this has to be one of the most important lesson learnt in my life πŸ˜‚ Never keep the remote on the recliner. (I still blame the recliner) πŸ™ˆ

          1. Just_Me :) says:

Or never keep the remote out of sight! πŸ˜‰

            1. That too!!! πŸ˜‚

  6. Baffledmum says:

My kids have a habit of taking the remote to the kitchen with them! Incase someone changes the channel whilst they are getting a snack or drink!!!

    1. That’s brilliant. Even I used to do that πŸ˜‚ but I am loss because I didn’t do such thing this time. Sigh!

  7. Did you really never find it back? I just lost my last hope of maybe someday the remote would pop out on it’s ownπŸ˜‚

Maybe life is trying to tell you something… πŸ™‚

“So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover, acquire new friends and gain knowledge of yourself and the world.” Samual Clemens aka Mark Twain

    1. Oh my! Is it? I never thought about it in such depth πŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing. I will keep that in mind πŸ€”

      1. DutchIl says:

Just think of all the life you will be missing while looking for the remote… πŸ™‚

Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better
to paint a picture, or write a letter,
bake a cake, or plant a seed.
Ponder the difference between want and need.

Dust if you must, but there is not much time,
with rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear, and books to read,
friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world’s out there
with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
a flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
this day will not come round again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
old age will come and it’s not kind.
And when you go, and go you must,
you, yourself, will make more dust!

lol. It’s easier to find remotes when you have siblings, cause they’re usually sitting on it……….Or its sitting on the kitchen counter cause you hid it or something……. πŸ˜›

    Ooh. Sky High. πŸ˜€

    Hope you find it! πŸ˜€

    1. Haha I know and that’s what makes this situation so hard right now. I doubt now I am going to find it. Searched the place soooo many times that now I am bored and might as well buy a new oneπŸ˜‚

      1. Liberty H. says:

        lol Might as well! πŸ˜€

  10. This would drive me crazy 😝 it should turn up eventually otherwise get a universial remote πŸ˜€

    1. Ah you have no idea. I have had dreams of finding the remote in my sleepπŸ˜‚ I have to buy a new one. Maybe I will find this remote after I buy the new one. Lol

  11. floatinggold says:

I, too, thought it would be in/ under the recliner. If not, then my next idea is that you threw it away. Maybe you had a pizza box open, put your remote there for a moment, then closed the box and threw it out. Happened to me. Not with a remote, but with some utensils.

    1. I checked all the utensils and the even the food that I ate and kept in friedgeπŸ™ˆ It’s nowhere. So it has to be the recliner. But again it’s not yet ready to throw up, much to my dismay. I might as well buy a new one😒

      1. floatinggold says:

I bet a bunch of plastic, wires, circuits, etc. are not easy to digest. Poor recliner.

        1. Noo, I am sure it will digest it. I am the one poor one here. πŸ˜‚

  12. ortensia says:

I’m afraid is a common happening,I misplaced it all the time but when it is nowhere to be seen is usually behind the cushion….except that time it was inside the dog stomach….hope it is not your case….and if u are wondering no,he has been not sick after eating itπŸ™ˆ

    1. Oh my! Did your dog really eat the remote πŸ˜‚ That’s hilarious. Haha. I wish I could have such kind of reasoning for myself in this case. But it seems the recliner has eaten the remote and am unable to find it inside. Might as well buy a new one. Sigh!

      1. ortensia says:

You have a carnivore recliner 😱or better a omnivore🀣and yes Kurt ate the remote along with half of the couch😳

        1. Haha, you couldn’t have justified it better. Omnivore Recliner! Love it and I am sure Kurt must have got into trouble afterwards πŸ˜‚

  13. iScriblr says:

Haha.. This happens to the best of us, and quite often! πŸ˜‰

    1. Why though? Why does such things happen to good people πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‰

      1. iScriblr says:

Haha.. If only I knew the answer!πŸ˜‰

        1. True that 😁 πŸ˜›

  14. Losing my remote without actually losing it. And ma eventually finding it for me. This is common in my home. I miss mom so much. #being hostelite

    1. I can totally understand the feeling. Mom’s have these super powerful eye scanners to unearth the hidden πŸ˜‚

  15. This is DEFINITELY a Mom thing…you are right; we develop a magic β€˜finding’ power when we become mothers…have you invited your Mom over for a look? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    1. Haha, well she will be coming in July/August. I am sure she will find it out then. But I did tell her over phone and she kept suggesting me places where I could have kept it πŸ˜‚ Moms will be Moms! <3

  16. the number of times this has happened to me πŸ˜‚

    1. Haha, I hope it never repeats itself πŸ˜‚

  17. Robin says:

Better feed your recliner some thing bullshit so that it vomits your remote…… I think it’s the only solution in the present scenario 😁

    1. Haha! This one is really funny. But I guess the Recliner would digest just anything if it could digest the remote 😁 Good Suggestion though πŸ˜‰

  18. Thank you for all of your likes. I apologize for not always returning the favor because I’m just trying to write my book or blog every day. But I really do appreciate each one, and you for taking the time to click on those stars. And maybe even reading my posts. Comments are welcome! Thanks again, MissteriosoDas!

    1. Hey! I really enjoy reading your posts whenever I can. πŸ™‚ Thank you for appreciating my blog too. Means a lot. All the best with your new book. I am sure it’s going to be great πŸ™‚

      1. That’s very nice of you to say. If we bloggers could just be paid for our work we would have more time to read and support other bloggers!

        1. That’s true. Maybe someday. πŸ™‚

  19. I hate when I lose things, it drives me crazy. Usually when I miss place something I just start cleaning the area where I last had it. Most of the time if cleaning doesn’t work then my mom usually finds it for me so…. πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

    1. Haha. Mothers always know where it is. Isn’t it? I wasn’t able to find the remote and finally had to buy a new one. Sigh!

  20. I put a phone in the freezer once. I’m not proud to admit that. It happened.

    1. Wow! did it ever get back to working? I didn’t find mine and so had to buy a new one. Sigh!

  21. “Sorry, not sorry”?

  22. pendantry says:

In my experience these magic wands reappear (as if by magic) after a time. The trick is to have at least three of them, so that when one goes missing you can use a different one πŸ™‚

    1. Hahahah.. I did eventually find the remote but by then I already had bought the 2nd one. πŸ˜€

      1. pendantry says:

There you go… now you just need a third for those occasions when both of them disappear πŸ˜‰

        1. True that. I hope this situation doesn’t arise though. πŸ˜‰
